Cross Keys Capital plays integral role in MEDNAX, Westchester Anesthesiologists merger: 5 key points

Sunrise, Fla.-based MEDNAX acquired White Plains, N.Y.-based Westchester Anesthesiologists, with Cross Keys Capital acting as Westchester Anesthesiologists' financial advisor in the sale.

Here are five key points:

1. Mitchell Rueben, MD, who will serve as the practice's medical director, said the road to find the right partner for Westchester Anesthesiologists has been arduous, but the anesthesia group found the partner they were seeking after obtaining guidance from Cross Keys.

He said, "We initially chose Cross Keys to help guide us because of their proven record in this area. We could not have been happier as they were by our side the entire way."

2. Comprised of 27 anesthesiologists and four anesthetists, Westchester Anesthesiologists provides care to White Plains (N.Y.) Hospitals as well as Rye (N.Y.) Ambulatory Surgery Center, Surgical Specialty Center of Westchester in Harrison, N.Y., and WESTMED Medical Group in White Plains.

3. MEDNAX, a national health solutions partners, has a network of more than 3,300 physicians across the United States, and provides revenue cycle management and consulting to various healthcare facilities.

4. An independent investment bank, Cross Keys Capital, provides merger and acquisition advisory services and represents anesthesiology practices and other private physician group practices such as radiology, ED, pathology, hospitalizes, vision and eye care and dermatology, among others.

5. Cross Keys Capital has a cumulative transaction value surpassing $3 billion.
