The concerns include “a requirement for additional narrative information when a CPT code descriptor includes the phrase ‘not otherwise specified'” and “confusion about whether the surgical CPT code is a required element in claims for anesthesia services.”

The ASA is working to resolve these matters and will continue to post additional information as it becomes available.
