ASA Endorses Legislation to Include Physician Anesthesiologists in Medicare Rural Anesthesia Incentive Program

Currently, the Medicare Anesthesia Rural Pass-Through program, a program that includes payments intended to incentivize rural facilities to continue to serve the Medicare population in their area, excludes physician anesthesiologists from participation. The new legislation would give rural hospitals more flexibility to use the services of physician anesthesiologists.
