Anesthesiologist Dr. Michael Bishop Appointed to California Medical Board

California Gov. Edmund G. Brown Jr. has appointed Michael Bishop, MD, anesthesiologist and director of anesthesia for same-day surgery at the University of California, San Diego Medical Center in Hillcrest, to the Medical Board of California, according to an Imperial Valley News report.

Dr. Bishop has been an attending anesthesiologist and clinical professor of anesthesiology at the University of California, San Diego, since 2006, and has served as quality officer for the Department of Anesthesiology since 2008.

He worked as a private practice anesthesiologist from 1992-2006 and received his MD from the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine.
