A study conducted by the Millennium Research Group expects the most growth to occur for level of consciousness monitors and anesthesia information system segments.

Acceleration in anesthesia machine purchasing took place after 2008, due to GE Healthcare and Drager Medical discontinuing their popular delivery systems. Many healthcare providers purchased new machines sooner than they would have, leading to a decline in 2012 sales.
