88% of Anesthesiologists Believe Their Job Pays Well, is Meaningful

Eighty-eight percent of anesthesiologists believe that their job, which pays well, is meaningful, according to a Forbes report.

Payscale.com, a website which lets users compare their salaries with those of other people in similar jobs by culling real-time salary data from its 40 million profiles, collected data through an ongoing survey from June 2012 to July 2013. Through the survey, it asked professionals if they felt that their jobs make the world a better place.

Eighty-eight percent of anesthesiologists, whose median pay is $283,600, believe that their job is meaningful and helps make the world a better place.

Anesthesiology is the third most meaningful job that pays well, after 97 percent of neurosurgeons and 91 percent of cardiothoracic surgeons who believe their well-paying jobs are meaningful.
