Here are three recent updates to certified registered nurse anesthetist programs and leadership announcements, as reported by Becker’s:
1. The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Northwest Regional Campus in Fayetteville received $3 million to expand its CRNA program.
2. The University of Texas at Tyler School of Nursing received approval to launch a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Nurse Anesthesia program. The three-year, post-baccalaureate degree will train critical care nurses to become dual-certified as adult-geriatric acute care nurse practitioners and certified registered nurse anesthetists. The hybrid program, which combines online and in-person coursework, will welcome its first cohort in the fall.
3. The American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology appointed Jeffrey Molter, MSN, as its next president. Mr. Molter has been a CRNA for more than 25 years, and he currently practices at the Institute of Orthopedic Surgery in Lima, Ohio.
