The new ASCs, outpatient centers opening in the Northeast

Here are six new ASCs, outpatient centers and medical office buildings that have opened, broken ground or been planned in the Northeast, as reported by Becker’s since April 10:

1. Two physicians affiliated with Buffalo (N.Y.) Spine & Sports Medicine filed plans to open a standalone ASC in Amherst, N.Y.
2. The Empire Center for Special Surgery on Staten Island opened in New York. 
3. Philadelphia-based Penn Medicine broke ground on a multispecialty outpatient center in Montgomeryville, Pa.
4. Portland, Maine-based physician-owned practice, InterMed, is opening a medical office building and an ASC in Scarborough, Maine.
5. The Institute for Advanced Reconstruction opened a new facility in Red Bank, N.J.
6. New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery opened new ASCs in Paramus and Mahwah, both in New Jersey.
