AAPC and CMS to Host ICD-10 “Code-A-Thon”

The American Association of Professional Coders is collaborating with CMS for an ICD-10 “Code-A-Thon” webinar on April 26, 2011, according to an AAPC release.

The three-hour event will cover topics such as:

• What is ICD-10 and Version 5010 and why are the transitions occurring
• Examples of complex diagnosis coding situations
• Best practices and ideal plans for healthcare professionals

The meeting’s schedule will include 50 minutes of presentations from CMS and AAPC experts and a two-hour, live question-and-answer session that is open to the public. The free event is intended to help prepare healthcare providers and industry professionals for the ICD-10 transition and answer questions on the significant transition.
