17 Healthcare Organizations in Mississippi and Louisiana Form GPO

Seventeen healthcare organizations and a multi-physician clinic in Louisiana and Mississippi have formed the Gulf States Purchasing Coalition, a group purchasing organization that aims to reduce supply expenses and improve operational performance, according to a news release.

This group, previously known as the Gulf States Sourcing Collaborative, has transitioned to a purchasing coalition to further aggregate the facilities’ purchasing volume to achieve greater savings than would have been possible individually. GSPC anticipates its members will achieve more than $5 million in savings in 2011.
