Biden lifts COVID-19 national emergency classification

President Joe Biden signed legislation to end the national emergency related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The bill terminated the classification of the pandemic as a national emergency, according to an April 10 news release from the White House. It does not affect the end of the separate public health emergency, scheduled for May 11, CNN reported April 10

The Senate on March 29 passed a resolution to expedite the end of the national emergency.
