The $3 million check marked the start of the foundation’s $7.5 million fundraising campaign, dubbed “Our Vision is 2020.” It was presented during a celebration of the foundation’s 35th year in existence. The foundation has raised nearly $40 million since it was established.

Renovations to the emergency department are slated to begin in early 2020. The emergency department was designed to accommodate 30,000 patients annually, but it could take double that number this year.
