Missoula (Mont.) Bone and Joint opened its surgery center Dec. 2, which will allow physicians to perform another 1,000 surgeries annually, The Missoulian reports.

1. The new surgery center has four operating rooms and will allow the center to perform up to 4,000 procedures annually.

2. The new two-story surgery center was built adjacent to the practice’s original headquarters.

3. Missoula Bone and Joint expanded to accommodate growing demand for orthopedic services.

4. The practice notably incorporated a number of energy conservation-facing elements, including a super-insulated building envelope, a ground-source heat pump and 160 solar panels. The elements will cut the practice’s energy use by 24 percent.
