Ghana surgery center opens in partnership with NYU School of Medicine: 3 things to know

LuccaHealth Medical Specialty Center opened Oct. 25 to provide specialty care and same-day surgery in partnership with New York City-based New York University School of Medicine.

Three things to know:

1. The center operates on two campuses in East Legon, Accra, Ghana.

2. The center offers ENT, gastroenterology, general surgery, gynecology, internal medicine, ophthalmology, nephrology and reconstructive surgery services. It will begin offering hemodialysis and interventional imaging in 2020.

3. LuccaHealth’s leadership team includes President and CMO Rodney Armstead, MD, COO Robert White, Chief Nursing Officer Stephanie Wiafe and Ambulatory Services Director Lynda Aboagye, MBA.
