2. The practice uses nerve blocks “that can last upwards of 72 hours,” Dr. Razzano said. “This is very beneficial for us because we can get the patient out of our ASC very quickly and possibly have an opioid-free postoperative course.”
3. Postoperative narcotics can be a gateway to opioid addiction, according to Dr. Razzano. “If we can stop that from the beginning, it’s an excellent opportunity for the patient to have a good outcome,” he said.
