ACMH Hospital designated a hip, knee joint replacement center of excellence

 
The UPMC Health Plan recognized Kittanning, Pa.-based Armstrong Center for Medicine and Health Hospital as a hip and knee joint replacement center of excellence, according to the Kittanning Paper.

The surgical facilities for joint replacement at ACMH Hospital was recognized for its high quality outcomes, patient experience and low complication rates. The orthopedic surgeons at the hospital underwent a credentialing process assessing the entire joint replacement care process from consultation to post-surgical recovery.

“The goal of the Center of Excellence program is to help members make an informed decision about their care through better information on quality and outcomes so they can get back to doing the activities they enjoy,” said Amy Helwig MD, UPMC Health Plan’s chief quality officer.
