Here are five updates on ASC companies and industry-relevant companies to note:

Minnetonka, Minn.-based UnitedHealthcare and Eden Prairie, Minn.-based Optum are extending support to health plan beneficiaries affected by deadly tornadoes and thunderstorms ravaging Texas.

Kenosha-based Wisconsin Specialty Surgery Center served its 10,000th patient in April, according to Towson, Md.-based SurgCenter Development.

The number of healthcare private equity deals rose to a record 265 in 2017, with KKR’s $10 billion buyout of Nashville, Tenn.-based Envision Healthcare among the largest deals.
