What you should know:
1. Ms. Williamson, 74, died March 17, 2018, after undergoing an upper endoscopy procedure.
2. The lawsuit claims an anesthesiologist allegedly gave Ms.Williamson 80 milligrams of Propofol before the procedure then gave her 50 milligrams more three minutes after the initial dose.
3. Ms. Williamson’s condition allegedly declined until she suffered cardiorespiratory arrest. Physicians resuscitated her, but she suffered severe anoxic brain damage.
4. The estate is suing Cincinnati-based Mercy Health, Canfield, Ohio-based Bel-Park Anesthesia, Columbus, Ohio-based the Gastroenterology Clinic and Endoscopy Center and several physicians.
5. The estate seeks $25,000, punitive damages and other relief the court awards.
6. Mercy Health would not comment on the suit to WFMJ.
