Beaumont Health’s 146th outpatient center expected to be its biggest — 5 details

Royal Oak, Mich.-based Beaumont Health plans to build its largest outpatient center yet in Lenox Township, Mich., The Detroit News reports.

What you should know:

1. Beaumont is purchasing a vacant lot adjacent to a Meijer grocery store for an undisclosed amount. The deal is expected to close in March.

2. The center would be larger than Beaumont’s 145 other outpatient sites, at 105,000 to 120,000 square feet. It will offer primary and specialty care, emergency care, imaging, outpatient surgery, cancer services, physical therapy and other services.

3. Beaumont plans to break ground on the center later this year and open it in 2020. Real estate developer NexCore Group will build and manage the campus.

4. Beaumont also plans to open a second outpatient center in Michigan, but it has yet to identify a site.

5. The health system hasn’t disclosed how much it intends to invest in the developments.
