Here’s what you should know:
1. Dr. Aslam agreed to pay the government $3.07 million to settle allegations he caused Lewes, Del.-based Got-A-Doc Walk-In Medical Centers and Elkton-based Alpha Medical Center to submit false claims to government healthcare programs.
2. The government alleged Dr. Aslam falsified a loan application to WSFS Bank.
3. One of his businesses, Got-A-Doc Walk-In Medical Centers, pleaded guilty to billing Medicare for services rendered by a physician when they were actually performed by a physician assistant. The business was fined $100,000 as part of the plea agreement.
4. Dr. Aslam agreed to be excluded from all federal healthcare programs and surrender his medical licenses.
5. His sentencing is scheduled for May 22, 2019.
