Here are three things to know about the new center:
1. The ASC and seven-story outpatient pavilion can serve nearly three dozen people at once.
2. The ASC has eight 650-square-foot operating rooms, a waiting room, storage facilities and staffing stations.
3. Good Samaritan Hospital CEO Andy Leeka told LA Downtown News the expansion comes as the hospital adjusts to how healthcare is evolving, saying, “People used to come to a hospital for a five-day stay. Now you might be a day-and-a-half. Knees and hips are going from inpatient to outpatient settings.”
