Medical College of Wisconsin Receives $1M Anesthesiology Research Grant

The Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee has announced the receipt a five-year, $1 million grant from the National Institutes of Health’s National Institute of General Medical Sciences to train basic and physician-scientists engaged in anesthesiology research.

The grant is one of 10 in the country and will fund an anesthesiology research training program with a goal of preparing investigative anesthesiologists, intensive care unit physicians and basic scientists for careers in academic medicine, according to a news release.

Judy Kersten, MD, professor and senior vice chair of anesthesiology, and professor of pharmacology and toxicology, is principal investigator.
