Here are four things to know.
1. Spot Ex is the only endoscopic tattoo with a long-term clinical surveillance indication, allowing gastroenterologists to implement guidelines from the European Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
2. The ESGE guidelines recommend tattooing all lesions that need to be followed-up at future colonoscopy or surgery.
3. The Spot Ex tattoo is used to endoscopically mark cancerous tissue, suspicious lesions and polyps for easier identification at follow-up colonoscopy or surgery.
4. The new Spot Ex formulation is darker than the current Spot product, making the tattoo easier to locate.
