Touchton Surgery Center receives The Joint Commission Accreditation — 4 quick facts

The Joint Commission awarded Jacksonville, Fla.-based Touchton Surgery Center the Gold Seal of Approval for Ambulatory Health Care Accreditation, JAX Chamber reports.

Here are four quick facts.

1. Touchton is a 15,000-square-foot ASC.

2. The Joint Commission conducted an unannounced onsite survey Dec. 19, 2017. Surveyors evaluated coordination of care, monitoring for procedures involving sedation or anesthesia, infection prevention and control, medication management and patient education and training.

3. Touchton has six operating rooms and two procedure rooms.

4. Specialty services provided at the center include general surgery, orthopedics, hand surgery, spine surgery, podiatry surgery, urology and pain management.
