Researchers surveyed executive women who were at the level of director or higher.

Here are six statistics the 2018 survey revealed.

1. The respondents reported that 17 percent of their executive peers were women. This number excluded four outliers, which were companies with women comprising more than 60 percent of executive positions.

Comparatively, women filled 26.5 percent of senior/executive positions at S&P 500 companies.

2. Excluding the outliers, the median share of women at the vice president level or higher was 12 percent at respondents’ companies.

3. The majority of the female medtech executives surveyed said they believe they have as much power and respect as their male peers.

4. While 7 percent of respondents said they are not paid at the same level as their male peers, 28 percent were unsure whether the pay rate is the same or not.

5. For 40 percent of women surveyed, the move to director was the toughest career transition to make. Vice president was reported as the second most difficult transition, with 33 percent of women saying that was the hardest.

6. The number of women in executive management positions increased from a median of 12 percent for all respondents to 29 percent in cases where a woman held a c-suite or board position.
