Here are four things to know.
1. Mayo Clinic physicians diagnosed Sen. McCain with glioblastoma in July, the Boston Globe reports. Sen. McCain has been in Arizona since Dec. 17, 2017, receiving physical therapy and treatment for the aggressive form of brain cancer.
2. Sen. McCain was hospitalized in December for a viral infection and side effects of his ongoing chemotherapy and radiation treatment, according to azcentral.com.
3. Sen. McCain voted against repealing the Affordable Care Act in July.
4. His office has not revealed when or if he will return to Congress.
