Here’s what you should know:
1. Richard Peek, MD, and Dr. Corley served as editor-in-chief and deputy-editor-in-chief, respectively, since July 2016. After a year and a half, the two journal leaders were footing an equal share of the responsibility, prompting AGA to make the title change.
2. The AGA Institute said in a statement that both editors have “taken Gastroenterology to new heights, and showcase[d] the journal’s commitment to reviewing and disseminating the best of both basic and clinical science.”
3. Dr. Peek congratulated Dr. Corley saying, “I am incredibly excited to move forward in full partnership with such an outstanding investigator, colleague and friend. Doug is an exceptional individual and role model and one who inspires me on an almost daily basis. I could not be happier!”
4. Dr. Corley is a research scientist with San Francisco-based Kaiser Permanente’s Northern California Division.
