Ophthalmology surgery center performs Louisville’s 1st Implantable Miniature Telescope operation

Louisville, Ky.-based Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers performed the first Implantable Miniature Telescope operation in the region, according to Wave 3 News.

1. The ophthalmology-driven surgery center performed the procedure on a patient with macular degeneration.

2. The patient had the condition for decades and had the procedure July 6.

3. In 1987, Donald Bennett, MD, opened Bennett & Bloom Eye Centers.

4. Thirteen providers staff the center.
