Average 2018 premium increases in 3 Eastern states: Highest increase totals 45%

Maryland, Virginia and Connecticut payers submitted premium increase proposals for 2018, with the average increase averaging 20 percent, according to Bloomberg.

Here are the average increases across the three states:

● Connecticut: 24 percent
● Maryland: 45 percent
● Virginia: 31 percent

Connecticut has two ACA insurers, Maryland has four and Virginia has six.
