Unity Healthcare buys back full ownership of Unity Surgical Center from Franciscan Health: 5 things to know

Lafayette, Ind.-based Unity Healthcare repurchased ownership of the Unity Surgical Center in Lafayette, Ind., from Indianapolis-based Franciscan Health, according to The Paper.

Here are five things to know:

1. Franciscan Health previously owned a portion of the joint venture surgery center and InnerVision Imaging Center; Unity Healthcare bought back ownership in both entities effective March 1.

2. Unity decided to repurchase ownership in both facilities due to changes in the regulatory and healthcare environment. Unity is now sole owner of both facilities.

3. According to the report, the transition will be seamless for patients.

4. Franciscan Health and Unity have partnered to provide several services through the ASC and imaging center in the past and plan to work together again in the future.

5. Unity Surgical Center was licensed in 2001 and includes specialists in pain management, general surgery, urology, ophthalmology and orthopedics.
