Survey: Virtual services in high consumer demand: 5 key notes

A Chicago-based Accenture survey claims virtual healthcare services are in high consumer demand.

The consulting company surveyed 1,501 U.S. consumers and found a large majority would be comfortable using virtual health services.

Here’s what you should know:.

1. Seventy-seven percent of respondents said they’d use virtual services to track several personal health indicators, 76 percent would use virtual care for follow-up appointments and 70 percent would use virtual-care for non-urgent health issues.

2. Despite a large amount of interest, only 21 percent of respondents actually received virtual health services.

3. Of those who had received virtual care, 34 percent said it offered greater convenience than in-person healthcare, 34 percent said they were familiar with using technology to manage their health and 34 percent also said they were curious to try virtual health.

4. Overall, 44 percent said they’d try virtual health if a physician encouraged them to.
