OrthoSports Athens, Athens-Limestone Hospital break ground on $25M ASC, medical office building: 5 things to know

OrthoSports Athens (Ala.) and Athens-Limestone Hospital started construction on a new facility featuring an ASC and medical office building, according to AL.com.

Here are five things to know:

1. The project totals $25 million and is 75,000 square feet.

2. The ASC will be three stories and will house six operating rooms.

3. The surgery center will include imaging and lab services in addition to physician office space.

4. An Athens-Limestone Hospital spokesperson said it plans to open the facility in spring 2018.

5. OrthoSports Athens and Athens-Limestone Hospital received certificate-of-need approval for the center in 2015.
