2. Mr. Cordani expects employer-based, international and individual healthcare plans to drive the increase.
3. The federal government barred Cigna from signing new Medicare Advantage customers in 2016 because of the company’s inability to resolve operational problems. Cigna said it has spent $80 million to resolve such problems.
4. In its SEC filings, Cigna said it spent $145 million on merger-related transaction costs in 2016. It spent $35 million in 2015.
