Cleveland Clinic, IBM partner to expand health IT capabilities: 3 key notes

The Cleveland Clinic entered into a five year partnership with North Castle, N.Y.-based IBM to expand the health system’s health IT capabilities.

Here’s what you should know.

1. The agreement is the latest in a “decades-long relationship.”

2. Cleveland Clinic will have expanded use of IBM’s cloud services and Watson cognitive computing technologies across its clinical and administrative operations.

3. The Cleveland Clinic played an integral role in helping Watson develop healthcare capabilities. The full-scale roll out throughout the entire clinic will allow for expanded functionality.
