Rush Health selects InterSystems HealthShare to revitalize EHRs: 3 takeaways

Chicago’s Rush Health selected Cambridge, Mass.-based InterSystems and its HealthShare platform to implement a private health information exchange across its medical system.

Here’s what you should know.

1. The HealthShare platform allows physicians and affiliates to access a complete view of a patient’s records across EHR systems.

2. This will connect the health systems’ primary, specialty, sub-acute and hospital-based providers and allow them to share complete patient records with each other.

3. Rush CEO Brent Estes said the new system will fill gaps in EHR systems and allow for an increased emphasis on value-based practices.
