ACA enrollment surges following election results: 4 takeaways

On the heels of the 2016 election, the ACA had the highest number of signups during the open enrollment period this year, according to The Hill.

Here are four takeaways:

1. On Nov. 9, more than 100,000 Americans purchased coverage through HealthCare.gov.

2. HHS Secretary Sylvia Mathews Burwell tweeted that Nov. 9 marked the “best day yet this open enrollment.”

3. HHS had plans to expand the ACA’s marketing outreach following the election.

4. Enroll America, an ACA advocacy group, released a statement saying it is crucial for Americans to continue signing up for the ACA.
