Hendersonville, N.C.-based Blue Ridge Health earned two Gold Seal of Approvals from the Joint Commission for primary care medical home and ambulatory health care, The Digital Courier reports.

1. The health system was founded in 1963, and has grown to care for more than 42,000 patients annually.

2. The system has eight health centers and five school-based clinics.

3. Blue Ridge Health is helmed by CEO Richard Hudspeth, MD.
