4 new joint venture ASCs — July/August 2016

Here are four new joint venture ambulatory surgery centers announced or opened in the past couple months.

Deerfield, Ill.-based Surgical Care Affiliates partnered with Raritan Valley Surgery Center in Somerset, N.J.

Two Spartanburg (S.C.) practices, Upstate Spine & Neurosurgery Center and Orthopaedic Associates, are opening a physician-owned ASC.

Great Neck, N.Y.-based Northwell Health acquired a majority stake in Melville (N.Y.) Surgery Center. Through the acquisition, Northwell will be part of a joint venture including 15 physician owners and Ambulatory Surgical Centers of America.

Regent Surgical Health joint ventured with Beaverton, Ore.-based West End Surgical ASC’s physician affiliates to develop the first ASC in the Northwest region dedicated specifically to performing total joint replacements and treating spine disorder.
