Here are six things to know:
1. Earlier this month, the surgery center filed plans with the New York Department of Heath for an $884,443 expansion.
2. The expansion will add a fifth endoscopy procedure room, allowing the center to perform an additional 3,000 procedures each year.
3. In 2014, the surgery center underwent an expansion to add additional procedure rooms due to high patient demand. Endoscopy Center of Western New York opened a second location in Wheatfield, N.Y., which is a joint venture with Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center and Kaleida Health.
4. Other ASCs filing for expansion include Buffalo-based Ambulatory Surgery Center of Western New York building a new $4.75 million suite as a replacement to its existing facility.
5. Buffalo (N.Y.) Surgery Center is in the final stages of completing its $9 million expansion.
6. Endoscopy Center of Western New York projects to complete construction in four months following the project’s administrative review.
