Loyola Medicine plans to build a $120 million ambulatory care center in Warrenville, Ill, backed by Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health, according to an Oct. 26 news release.
Loyola calls the project one of the largest outpatient investments in its history, with the facility covering nearly 100,000 square feet and having 60 exam rooms.
The center will bring more than 30 medical and surgical specialties to one site. They include primary care for adults and children, cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, neurology, gastroenterology and sports medicine.
It will also house an ASC, an infusion center and a retail pharmacy. Imaging will include mammography, X-ray, ultrasound, CT and MRI.
Loyola expects the site to handle about 100,000 patient visits a year.
“Healthcare continues to move closer to where people live and work,” said Shawn Vincent, president and CEO of Trinity Health’s Illinois/Indiana Region. Mr. Vincent said the investment sets up Loyola Medicine to meet that demand for decades.
The project still needs state and local approval. Loyola expects construction to start in early 2027 and the center to open in 2029.
The Warrenville center will widen Loyola’s access to primary and specialty care across Chicago’s western suburbs.
At the Becker’s 32nd Annual Meeting: The Business and Operations of ASCs, taking place October 29-31 in Chicago, ASC leaders, surgeons and healthcare executives will explore strategies to drive growth, enhance operational performance, navigate reimbursement challenges and prepare for the future of ambulatory surgery.
