Dr. Pochapin focuses primarily on the prevention, detection and diagnosis of gastrointestinal cancers and performs procedures such as colonoscopy, upper endoscopy and endoscopic ultrasound. His research interests lie in bacteria of the gut, their effect on the development and prevention of disease, and the way in which advances in technology can be used to improve physicians’ abilities to detect and treat precancerous and cancerous growths in the gastrointestinal system.
Dr. Pochapin earned his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College and completed his residency at the NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, both in New York City. He also completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at Montefiore Medical Center, also in New York City.
