GI physician leader to know: Dr. Dahlia Awais of Minnesota Gastroenterology

Dahlia Awais, MD, joined Minneapolis-based Minnesota Gastroenterology in January 2013. She previously served as an attending gastroenterologist at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, where she was a member of the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center.

Dr. Awais’ clinical interests include inflammatory bowel disease including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and general gastroenterology. She has been a presenter at Digestive Disease Week and at the Advances in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases Conference. She has also published peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters on IBD.

Dr. Awais earned her medical degree at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and completed her residency at University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She completed her GI fellowship at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
