PQRS deadline extended: 3 quick points

The original deadline to submit 2015 data for the CMS Physician Quality Reporting System was Feb. 26, but CMS has extended the deadline, according to the American Gastroenterological Association.

Here are three quick points for gastroenterologists to know.

1. The new deadline to submit data for PQRS is March 18.

2. Physicians who fail to report data by the deadline will be subject to a 2 percent downward adjustment in Medicare reimbursement in 2017, according to the report.

3. Gastroenterologists have the option to report data through the AGA Digestive Health Recognition Program, a CMS-qualified clinical data registry.
