Bernie Sanders has outpatient surgery

Presidential hopeful for the democratic nomination Bernie Sanders underwent elective outpatient hernia surgery yesterday, according to a CNN report.

Mr. Sanders underwent the procedure at the George Washington University on Monday but planned to return to the campaign trail next week. Mr. Sanders is 74 years old.

Mr. Sanders will work from his Capitol Hill office for the next week before returning to the campaign trail. He is a senator from Vermont.
