ASA names Dr. Mark Neuman 2015 Presidential Scholar Award: 5 notes

The American Society of Anesthesiologists named Mark Neuman, MD, PhD, winner of its 2015 Presidential Scholar Award.

1. Dr. Neuman is assistant professor of anesthesiology and critical care and assistant professor of medicine (geriatrics) at the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

2. He is also a senior fellow at the Leonard Davis Institute for Health Economics at the University of Pennsylvania.

3. He is an associate editor of Anesthesiology and is chair of the ASA Committee on Geriatric Anesthesia.

4. His research interests primarily focus on tobacco control policy and patient-centered outcomes of geriatric patients undergoing hip fracture surgery.

5. Dr. Neuman completed his residency in anesthesiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
