AAAHC Institute honors Turk’s Head Surgery Center, Seton Hall University Health Services

The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care Institute for Quality Improvement recognized two healthcare facilities with the annual quality improvement award.

Seton Hall University Health Services in South Orange, N.J., and Turk’s Head Surgery Center in West Chester, Pa., received the award for exemplary quality improvement studies in primary care and surgical/procedural care, respectively.

Turk’s Head Surgery Center won the surgical/procedural award after adopting scopolamine patch procedures to standardize postoperative prevention for nausea and vomiting in patients.

Seton Hall University Health Services received the primary care award after implementing a comprehensive improvement study to refine current alcohol screening methods and interventions in collegiate health centers.

The honorable mentions include Shreveport (La.) Endoscopy Center AMC for their patient falls program and Georgia Tech Stamps Health Services in Atlanta for prescribing and dispensing events in a college healthcare setting.
