The provisions include mandating an Institute of Medicine conference on pain; establishing a training program for healthcare professionals who treat pain; and enhancing the National Institutes of Health’s pain research agenda, according to the release.
The provisions will help support clinicians who specialize in pain management, Scott Fishman, MD, president of the APF board of directors, said in the release.
