Laurel Regional Hospital to transition to outpatient center

Dimensions Healthcare System, based in Prince George’s County, Md., plans to transition its Laurel (Md.) Regional Hospital to an outpatient center, according to a myFoxdc.com report.

The health system will spend $24 million to complete the transition by 2018. Once completed, the facility will offer outpatient surgery, diagnostic services, emergency services and more.

Dimensions Healthcare made the decision to shift Laurel Regional to an outpatient center due to the multi-million dollar losses at the hospital, according to the report.
