Here are five things to know:

1. The MESA 2 is a next-generation pedicle screw system designed for complex spinal pathologies.

2. The system is a top-loading, low profile screw with dual-lead thread pattern for fast insertion. The MESA Technology features Zero-Torque Technology for a one-step lock without torsional stress applied to the spine.

3. The MESA 2 achieved FDA clearance in January and nearly 70 surgical cases using the system are already complete.

4. The system saves time in the operating room by cutting the number of basic surgical steps in half.
