Alabama Senate Joint Resolution calls for ICD-10 delay

An Alabama Senate Joint Resolution calling for Congress to delay ICD-10 implementation was enacted this week, according to an AL.com report.

The joint resolution is sponsored by Sen. Tim Melson, MD (R-Florence).

Earlier this year, Mobile, Ala. urologist Jeff Terry, MD, testified before a Congress panel that ICD-10 would be a significant burden to physicians and could impact patient access to healthcare, according to the report.
